Booka, Shropshire

Opened in 2009, Booka was named the UK & Ireland Independent Bookshop of the Year 2015 and in 2020 was the winner of The Sceptre Bookshop Award. The Poetry Pharmacy, Shropshire

The Poetry Pharmacy started life back in 2011 as a vintage ambulance, selling poems at festivals, conferences, libraries, hospitals, care homes, and schools. As well as poetry books, they also “dispense” gift boxes, relaxation items such as bath bombs, and “poetry pills” – these are not to be swallowed, instead each pill contains a poem to take.

Bookmark has been trading for over 25 years and has won a number of awards such as the 2001 Independent Bookshop of the Year, and regional winner in both 2007 and 2008.
